Frederic R. Riehl

Frederic R. “Fred” Riehl, 77, of Albany, GA, died August 5, 2018 at Pruitt-Palmyra Health Care.  Graveside Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Leesburg Cemetery.  Rev. Bobby Paul will officiate.

A native of Portsmouth, OH, Mr. Riehl graduated from Portsmouth West High School and joined the United States Marine Corps.  He was transferred to Albany, GA and then served two tours of duty in Vietnam.  He met his future wife, Edna Davis and they married in Hawaii.  They returned to Albany, GA and Mr. Riehl was employed with Merck and Company as a Maintenance Supervisor.  He was a proud member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jody Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Davis Riehl of Albany, GA, a son, Wayne Riehl of Monroe, NC, a step-son, Donnie Mitchell and his wife, Debbie of Lee County, GA, three grandchildren, Cary (Mandy) Mitchell of Sylvester, GA, Kevin (Amanda) Mitchell of Hoschton, GA and Austin Smith of Monroe, NC, two brothers, Tommy (Donna) Riehl of Lucasville, OH and David (Brenda) Riehl of Grove City, OH and a sister, Sarah (Rod) Pennington of Lebanon, OH.
