Freddie Lee Wilkerson

Freddie Lee Wilkerson, 65, of Albany, GA, died April 29, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Bobby Marshall will officiate. Committal services will follow at 2:00 PM at Salem Baptist Church in Wilcox, County, GA. John Moag, Clete Wilkerson, Randy Wilkerson, Richard Wilkerson, Herbie Moag and Tyler Taylor will serve as pallbearers.

A native of Abbeville, GA, Mr. Wilkerson grew up in Albany, GA and graduated from Dougherty High School. He was a heavy mobile equipment mechanic and retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base. He was a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church and was a former member of Artesian City Car Club. He was an avid circle track and Drag Strip racer.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Onita Wilkerson of Albany, GA, a son, Lee (Christy) Wilkerson of Lee County, GA, a daughter, Renae Hollingsworth of Albany, GA, his mother, Marvine Wilkerson, three sisters, Wanda Whitaker, Macklin (Jim) Little and Linda (Ken) Moag all of Albany, GA, two brothers, Paul (Cindy) Wilkerson of Ducson, LA and Steve (Terry) Wilkerson of Albany, GA, three grandchildren, Connor (Reagan) Wilkerson of Baxley, GA, Emily Wilkerson and Cooper Wilkerson both of Lee County, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Wilkerson and his infant sister, Marvan Wilkerson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday at Mathews Funeral Home.
