Freddie Dean Nichols

Freddie Dean Nichols, 83, of Cherry Log, GA, formerly of Albany, GA passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Dr. William Knight will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

Born in Colquitt County, Mrs. Nichols grew up in Doerun, GA. She married the late William “Bill” Nichols in 1954 and she lived most of her life in Albany. Mrs. Nichols worked many years in banking working for C&S Bank and retiring from Ameris Bank. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of First Baptist Church of Albany. Mrs Nichols loved reading, watching her Atlanta Braves, and traveling with her husband and church groups. Throughout her work-life and church membership, Mrs Nichols was an active member in various civic organizations, Sunday School, choir, and many volunteer activities at First Baptist.

Survivors include a son, Bill Nichols (Ree) of Tampa, FL, a daughter Jan King (Michael) of Lee County, GA, grandchildren Melissa McLaurin of Guyton, GA, Brandon King (Brandy) of Jefferson, GA, Jason Nichols (Kim) of Tampa, FL , and Andrea Nichols of Tampa, FL, and six great-grandchildren Bayler, Boston, Ella, Ty, Beckham, and Kinsley.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from one o’clock until the funeral hour.
