Freda Estelle Harber Cochran, 104 of Albany, GA, died June 4, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. George Howell will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Centerville, TN, born to George and Eveline Harber, Mrs. Cochran had resided in Albany, GA since 1961 moving from Birmingham, AL. She was a homemaker and a charter member of The First Southern Methodist Church of Albany, GA and the JOY Sunday School Class. She was the widow of Julius Pruitt Cochran.
Survivors include three daughters, Anita Mathis and Carol Layfield and her husband, Roy all of Albany, GA and Sheilah Holland and her husband, Joey of Baconton, GA, six grandchildren, Chris Mathis and his wife, Gayla, Tracey Mathis and his wife, Emily and Trevor Mathis and his wife, Dana all of Leesburg, GA, Michael Layfield and Kimberly Layfield of Albany, GA, Jaycie Holland of Lee County, GA and Caitlynn Holland Holley and her husband, Dr. Jacob Holley of Spartanburg, SC, her great-grandchildren, Christopher Mathis, Harber Mathis, Spencer Mathis, T. J. Mathis and Jessica Mathis all of Leesburg, GA.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
