Fred Glass, 83, of Albany, GA, died January 10, 2015 at his residence. A celebration of his Home Going will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Douglas Hatcher, Rev. John McComas and Pastor Jill Willingham will officiate. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Pavo, GA, he was born to the late Harmon G. Glass, Sr. and Mae Touchtone Glass. Mr. Glass graduated from Moultrie High School, attended Texas A&M University and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He moved to Albany, GA in 1976 and was employed with the United States Department of Agriculture for over thirty years. He was a member of and a deacon at Radium Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine C. Glass of Albany, GA, a daughter, Marcia (David) Epps of Sylvester, GA, a son, Marlon "Fred" (Donna) Glass of Moultrie, GA, his grandchildren, Leanne (Donald) Griffin of Sylvester, GA, April (Leland) Curles of Savannah, GA, Lila (Jason) Parker of Sylvester, GA, Wesley "Buc" (Casey) Glass of Lubbock, TX, Amanda (Ashley) Stripling of Moultrie, GA, Amy Baechel of Canton, OH, Nicole Glass of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Katie Glass of Tampa, FL, ten great-grandchildren and a sister, Hazel (Rufus) Bradley of Decatur, AL.
He was preceded in death by his son, Maurice Glass and brother, Harmon G. Glass Jr. Fred lived to glorify his Savior, Jesus. To God be the glory even in Fred's Home Going.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
