Rev. Fred W. Bell, 80, of Albany, GA, died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Lakeside Baptist Church. Rev. Ken Chancellor and Rev. Reagan Marsh will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens.

A native of Toccoa, GA, Rev. Bell grew up in South Carolina. He served in the United States Air Force during Korea and moved to Albany, GA in 1956. Rev. Bell was employed in civil service at Turner Field and retired from Dobbins Air Force Base.

Rev. Bell served as the pastor of Pebble City Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and retired from Autreyville Baptist Church. After his retirement, he traveled extensively to different churches as an evangelist and interim pastor. He was active in missions, with trips to Jamaica, Cuba and New York. Rev. Bell was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and attended the Preacher's Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife of fifty seven years, Grace J. Bell of Albany, GA, three daughters, Sharon Bell Jackson and her husband, Danny of Montgomery, AL, Suzanne Bell Long and her husband, Keith and Sandi Bell Burdette and her husband, Kyle, all of Leesburg, GA, a son, Stephen F. Bell and his wife, Mai of Albany, GA, a sister, Freda Parker of Seneca, SC, a brother, Rev. Frank Bell and his wife, Una of Cosby, TN, five grandchildren, Laura (Thomas) Stair of Albany, GA, Daniel (Andrea) Jackson of Lakeland, FL, Sara Herring and Katie (Chris) Schmeltzer all of Albany, GA and Sam Burdette of Leesburg, GA and one great-granddaughter, Ellie Jackson of Lakeland, FL.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.

You can go to heaven without health or wealth, without fame or a great name, but you can't go to heaven without Jesus. Thank you, Sir.
