Franklin "Lynn" D. Mitchell

Franklin D. (Lynn) Mitchell, 84, of Albany, GA, died September 4, 2017 at Willson Hospice House. A memorial service will be held Tuesday September 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.  Ross Powell will officiate.

A native of Ashburn, GA, Mr. Mitchell was born to the late George and Maggie Pearl Johnson Mitchell. He was the youngest of ten children, grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School in 1952.  He joined the United States Army and served his country in the Korean Conflict.  Mr. Mitchell owned and operated F.D. Mitchell Electric since 1977 and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2785. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd Mitchell, Harvey Mitchell, Joseph Mitchell, William T. Mitchell, George Mitchell and sisters, Ruth Austin and Aileen Leith.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Poyner Mitchell, a daughter and her husband, Angela Christine and Stan Brown, two sisters, Beatrice Knight and Marjorie Sutton and a granddaughter, Melissa Renee Brown all of Albany, GA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
