Franklin A. "Frank" Deck

Franklin A. “Frank” Deck, 81 of Leesburg, GA, died December 20, 2023 at the Willson Hospice House.  No services will be held at this time.

Frank was born in Watson, LA on December 30, 1941.  He grew up and graduated from Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge, LA in 1959.  Frank joined the United States Marine Corps and served for twenty-two years before retiring as MSgt in Albany, GA in 1981.

After retirement, he was employed with Hudson’s Garage and Bill Chambers Motors.  Frank continued his career in Law Enforcement.  He was employed as a Correctional Officer and was employed with The Albany Transitional Center before his retirement in 2003.  Frank enjoyed classic car shows, fishing, and shot skeet competitively.  He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Deck.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Deck of Leesburg, GA, his daughter, Tammy (James) Poppell of Perry, FL, three grandchildren, Kayla Deck of Leesburg, GA, Remington Poppell and Case Poppell both of Perry, FL, a great-grandchild, Brody Taylor of Leesburg, GA and his dog, Snoopy. Frank is also leaving behind his group of Good Ol’ Boys.
