Frankie Jeanette Houston (Ms. Frankie), 91, of Leesburg, GA, died February 17, 2016 at Morningside Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Leesburg. Rev. Bobby Harrell and Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.
Ms. Houston was born in Athens, Georgia and moved to Leesburg, GA in 1955 and was employed with Sears in the Service Department and later with the Lee County Board of Education as a paraprofessional. She treasured her years with faculty and students of Lee County.
Ms. Houston was a devoted member of The First Baptist Church of Leesburg and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Retired Educators of Lee County and The Red Hat Sweet and Sassy Club.
Ms. Frankie was a true southern lady who never met a stranger. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She had the ability to bring happiness and encouragement everywhere she went. She never missed the opportunity to "cut a rug" to some Elvis music. Her sunset years were spent with the loving staff and residents at Morningside Assisted Living.
Survivors include her children, Frankie Lynn Clardy (Alan), Hampton, GA., Flint Houston (Ginger), Ft. Gaines, GA., Sonja West (Tom), Leesburg, GA., her grandchildren, Jason Clardy (Lindsey), Senoia, GA., Stonie Houston, Cody Houston, both of Ft. Gaines, GA., Dallas Martin (Jonathan), Dalton Paulk and Jacob West, all of Leesburg, GA and six great-grandchildren and a devoted niece Melanie Bluett (Bob), Athens, GA.
The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at First Baptist Church.
The family is at the residence of Sonja and Tom West, 188 Thimble Mill Drive, Leesburg, GA, 31763.
