Frank Edward Widner, 81, of Leesburg, GA, died Monday, December 23, 2013 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 27, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Gordon Cemetery, Damascus, GA. Dr. Jeffery D. Spicer and Rev. W. A. Bingham will officiate.
Born in Colquitt, GA, Mr. Widner had resided in Orlando, FL before moving to Leesburg, GA in 1962. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army. He was retired from Merck Inc. and was a member of Heritage Full Gospel Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Lee Widner and Ollie Cathleen Henry Widner and a son, Ronald Edward Widner.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Anglin Widner, Leesburg, GA, two sons and their wives, Kenneth Edward Widner and Karen, Gainesville, GA, David Glenn Widner and Carmin, Leesburg, GA, a daughter and her husband, Sue Widner Giddens and Ronnie, Newnan, GA, three sisters and their husbands, Hilda Weeks and Wayne and Christine Jones and Tony all of Ft. Gaines, GA, Jeannine Kennedy and Ronnie of Leesburg, GA, nine grandchildren, Kenny Young, Ginger Wilkerson, Shane Giddens, Fielding Widner, Ivey Clifton, Joshua Widner, Jeremy Widner, Jamie Davenport, Nicholas and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
