Frank Eldridge King

Frank E. King, 92, of Albany, GA, died July 31, 2014 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. King was born to the late Chalmus and Minnie King in Cusetta, GA and grew up in Chattahoochee County, GA. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and moved to Albany, GA in1944. Mr. King was a diesel mechanic with the Carlton Company for forty two years and retired in 1988. His greatest passion besides his family was fishing.

He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Mr. King was preceded in death in 2013 by his wife, Nadine Hancock King. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, J.B. King, Leon T. King, Alvin E. King and Leonard C. King, a sister, Virginia Ruth Cox and a grand-daughter, Kimberly Ann King.

Survivors include his sons and their wives, Larry and Sandra King of Darien, GA, Thomas and Rita King, Richard and Sharon King and Randy and Kathy King all of Albany, GA, a sister, Margaret Herman Page of Lee County, GA, his grandchildren, Thomas King and his wife, Kristen of Tifton, GA, Brian King and his wife, Kristina of Port Charlotte, FL, Whitney King and her fiancée, Brian Bayerl of Wilton Manors, FL, Brian Horneck and his wife, Ashley of Perry, FL, Marty Thornhill and her husband, Jason, Chris King, Beth King (Chris Taylor) all of Albany, GA and Ashley Landry of Albany, NY and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
