Frank Griffin, Sr., 72 of Albany, GA, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Billy D. Hanna and Rev. Scott Tomlinson will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Dublin, GA, Mr. Griffin had resided in Albany for the past fifty five years. Mr. Griffin served in the Army Reserves, and had worked with Jim Horne Mill Supplies before starting Albany Industrial Distributors where he served as president and co-owner and was the owner and president of Albany Hardware Company.
Mr. Griffin was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his family. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church where he was active in the K and K Sunday School Class and served as the usher chairman. Frank will always be remembered for greeting people as they entered the church with a big smile, a hug or a handshake.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Griffin, a son and his wife, Frank Griffin, Jr. (Lee Ann), two daughters and their husbands, Tisha Glover (Dillard), Tracy Lee (Fred) and his mother Clara Mae Griffin all of Albany, GA, twelve grandchildren, Aaron Lee (Yasmina Guerda), Anders Lee, Whitney Glover, Olivia Lee, Kendal Glover, Luke Griffin, Annalee Griffin, Levi Griffin, Abigail Griffin, Lydia Griffin, Seth Griffin, Reuben Griffin and a great-grandchild, Carter Stanich.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church Music Ministries, 420 N. Westover Blvd., Albany, GA, 31707.
The family will receive friends Friday August 17, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.at Mathews Funeral Home.
