Francis (Bear) Classon, Jr

Francis Xavier (Bear) Classon, Jr., 63, of Albany, GA died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jamie Baggett will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with Masonic Rites provided by Tri County Memorial Club.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Mr. Classon had resided in Albany, GA for the past forty three years. He was a self- employed mechanical contractor for many years before his illness. Mr. Classon was a member of Dougherty Lodge 591 F&AM and a member of Hasan Shrine where he formerly served on the Director's Staff. He was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Skip was a fantastic Father and Pop. Everyone that knew him loved and respected him. He made a great impression on so many people. Skip you will be missed by so many.

Survivors include his wife, Denise L. Classon, Albany, GA, five sons, Todd Classon (Lisa), Mitchell Co., GA, Tracy Classon, Albany, GA, Seth A. Classon (Tanya) , Mitchell Co., GA, Brandon S. Classon (Jennifer), Lee Co., GA, Tracy Manos "TM" (Amy), Leesburg, GA, his parents, Francis Xavier Classon, Sr. and Claire Drury Classon of Orlando, FL, one brother, Alan Classon (Delores) Cape Coral, FL, three sisters, Sandy C. Eslinger, Coco Beach, FL, Nanette Mattox (Michael) Centerville, VA, Jennifer Classon, Orlando, FL and nine grandchildren. Skip was preceded in death by a brother, Keith E. Classon.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 14, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The family is at the residence of Brandon and Jennifer Classon, 194 Pineridge Dr., Leesburg, GA.
