Frances Brand Mixon

Frances Brand Mixon, 93, of Albany, GA died Thursday, May 23, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Norman Denney will officiate. Committal services will follow at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, GA at 3:00 PM.

A native of Gay, GA, Mrs. Mixon moved to Columbus, GA in 1954 and was employed with Swift Manufacturing Company and retired in 1999. She was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church in Columbus, GA and was preceded in death by her husband, John Frank Mixon and her two sons, Michael Jones and Mark Mixon.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue Creamer and her husband Ed of Albany, GA, a brother, Carlton Brand and his wife, Ida of Jacksonville, FL, her grandchildren, Todd (Trinity) Mixon of Panama City Beach, FL, Bentley (Ashley) Mixon of Columbus, GA, Julie (Rodney) Walker of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Christy (Darin) Denney of Albany, GA, Tracy (Mike) McPherson and Ed Ross (Shaye) Creamer III all of Lee County, GA, a daughter-in-law, Vickie Jones of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will be at the residence of Sue and Ed Creamer's at 2316 Gail Avenue, Albany, GA, 31707 and will also receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
