Frances Gilley Lewis

Frances Gilley Lewis, 91, of Lee County, died Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. 

Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM, October 2, 2023 at Mathews Funeral Homes with interment Floral Memory Gardens.  Rev. Aaron McCulley will officiate. 

Born in Alabama, Mrs. Lewis lived most of her life in the Leesburg area.  She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Parkway Church of God.   Working in her garden, whether it flowers on vegetables, being outside, making her own clothes, cooking and her family, and her pets where some of her greatest joys. 

She was preceded in death by her husband OJ Lewis, Son-N-Law Richard Henderson, three sisters, and two brothers

Survivors include her son Robert Lewis (Deborah), daughters, Bonny Henderson, Lisa Chavers (Mike), grandchildren, Robbie Lewis (Cecillia), Cindy Ford (Kevin), Leslie Chavers (Charlie), Jeremy Chavers (Mary), Michael Henderson, Matthew Henderson, Hannah Henderson, great grandchildren, Jacob, Maygen, Hulyn, Wyman, Isaac, Mark, Jeffery, Anna, Owen, Claire, brother, Buddy Gilley and sisters, Jean Nichols, Annette Gilley and Jeanette Gilley. 

The family will receive friends Monday, October 2, 2023 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home.
