Floyd Wilburn Nicholson

Floyd Wilburn Nicholson, 82, of Albany, GA, died Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, GA.  Funeral services will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Debbie Cone, Rev. Wayne Martin and Mr. Nicholas Barry will officiate.  Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.

A native and lifelong resident of Albany, GA, Mr. Nicholson graduated from Albany High School in 1953 and served in the United States Air Force from 1953-1964.  He was employed with United Insurance Company and Liberty National Insurance Company and he was a member of Avalon United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post # 30.

Survivors include his wife, Martha LeSueur Nicholson of Albany, GA, a daughter, Kathy Hanson and her husband, Tony of Leesburg, GA, a brother, James L. “Don” Nicholson of Bronwood, GA, his grandchildren, Karli Barry Blackburn and her husband, Wesley of Columbus, GA, Nicholas Barry of St. Louis, MO and Keith Hanson of Leesburg, GA.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
