Fannie Sally Crumbley Bowen, 99, of Albany, GA formerly of Irwin County, GA, died Thursday, August 4, 2011 at her residence. Services will be held Sunday August 7, 2011 with the viewing at 10:30 a.m. and funeral to follow at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pitts City Cemetery, Pitts, GA.
A native of Abbeville, GA, Mrs. Bowen had resided in Irwin County before moving to Albany ten years ago. She was a homemaker, was an active member of the Horseshoe Bend Ladies Quilting Circle, in Irwinville, GA for many years and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her husband Ollie Jackson Bowen and two grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Sara Koskinas, Clara Jo Purvis both of Albany, GA and Linda Muller and her husband, Frank of Punta Gorda, FL, a son, Alton Bowen and his wife, Bernice of Brunswick, GA, four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
