Evelyn Juanita Merritt

Evelyn Juanita Merritt, of Albany, GA died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Billy D. Hanna will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Cedar Springs, GA (Early Co.), Mrs. Merritt had resided in Albany, GA since 1956. She was a self-employed cosmetologist and homemaker. She was a member of the K & K Sunday School Class and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Sibley Pyle and Agnes Mae Houston Pyle, her husband, Lucius Lee Merritt and two son-in-law, Stephen Scott and Mike Tabb, Jr.

Survivors include three daughters, Leanne Merritt Speight (Mike), LaGrange, Ga, Maria Merritt Smith and Julie Merritt Tabb both of Albany, GA, nine grandchildren, Ethan Smith, Marlee Smith, Merritt Speight, Emilyn Scott, Camden Scott, Greg Speight, Kevin Speight and Andy Speight, two great-grandchildren, Lily Speight and Drew Speight and a sister, Sybil Pyle Still, Blakely, GA.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
