Evelyn Ruth Dally

Caring mother and wife, Evelyn Ruth Dally, 81, died May 26, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Dunn will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Knoxville, TN, born to the late Claude and Johnsie Cook Scarbrough, Mrs. Dally had resided in Albany, GA since 1958 moving from Springfield, MA. She was a civil servant who worked at the Marine Corps Logistic Base for thirty years. Mrs. Dally retired as an inventory manager and was proud of being a civilian Marine.
Mrs. Dally was an emeritus volunteer with Chehaw Park and had reached the 1000 hour mark. She attended Radium Springs Baptist Church and was a founding member of the Radium Springs Neighborhood Association.
Mrs. Dally was exceptionally proud of her family, survivors include, her husband, Donald A. Dally of Albany, GA, her children, Fred Ray (Melanie) Edens of Lawrenceville, GA, Jane Edens (Doug) Waller of Kissimmee, FL, Lance Albert Dally of Albany, GA, Arvel J. (Nancy) Edens, JR. of Woodbridge, VA, Timothy R. (Renee) Dally of Fredericksburg, VA, Candace Ann Dally Macheers of Leesburg, GA, Mark (Medora) Dally of Norwich, CT and Deborah Diana Dally (Greg) Ward of Leesburg, GA, her siblings, Edna Ducan of Columbus, OH, Charles (Geraldine) Scarbrough of Anaheim, CA and Joann Fritsche of Davenport, FL, grandchildren, Stephen Edens, Amy Barnett, Dale Maine, Chet Maine, Michael Edens, Josh Edens, Erin Edens, Zack Dally, Morgan Dally, Alicia Waller, Gabriel Percival, Veronica Percival, and Jessica Akins and her great-grandchildren, Christian, Cameron, Emma, Katelyn, Galvin, Caleb, Jonah, Jake, Bethany and Stephany. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Gene Scarbrough, Marie Riffey and Bobby Scarbrough.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
