Evelyn Moore Cauley

Evelyn Moore Cauley, 96, of Tifton, GA, formerly of Albany, GA, died May 15, 2022 at Legacy Village.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church.  Rev. Norman Denney and Rev. Jerry Gorre will officiate.  Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Cauley was born on December 30, 1925 to Noah and Cora Moore in Centerville, AL.  At nineteen years old, she moved to Albany, GA and was a mother, wife and homemaker.  She also worked as a bookkeeper with the A&P Grocery Store and Belk’s Department Store downtown.

Mrs. Cauley was a charter member and very active at Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, served as the secretary of the Sunday School Department, a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and was in charge of the Library.  She enjoyed crafts, painting and fishing.  In addition to her husband Alfred Cauley, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Leroy Moore, Milton Moore, Jackson Moore, Lottie Lee Moore Mims, Louvenia Moore Hicks and Gladys Moore Cleveland.

Survivors include her children, Brenda Malone of Ty Ty, GA and Morris (Patricia) Irvin of Knoxville, TN, her grandchildren, Jason (Alexis) Malone of Ty Ty, GA, Mandy (Sean) Foster of Adel, GA, Leigh Irvin Anthony and Matthew (Amy) Irvin all of Chattanooga, TN and five great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church.
