Evelyn Diane Kirkland Bridges, 69, of Dawson, GA, died Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, County Road 141, 5547 W. Lee Street, Dawson, GA, 39842. Rev. Bobby Paul will officiate. Born in Albany, GA to the late Carl Buford Kirkland and Everlene Washington Kirkland, Mrs. Bridges had resided in Dawson, GA for the past forty six years. She was a beautician and a home maker. In addition to her parents Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Bridges, two sons, Virgil Bridges, Jonathan Bridges and a brother Randall Kirkland. Survivors include three sons, Charles (Chuck) McConnell (Laney) of Worth County, Roger McConnell (April) of Lee County, GA and Richard McConnell (Christine) of Tallahassee, FL, four brothers Darrell Kirkland, Pelham, GA, Rodney Kirkland, Sylvester, GA, Wendell Kirkland, Prattville, AL and Glenn Kirkland, Albany, GA, ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Evelyn Diane Kirkland Bridges to the American Cancer Society, 507 West Third Ave., Suite #4, Albany, GA, 31701.
