Eva Batton Stoudenmire

Eva Batton Stoudenmire, 86, of Albany, GA died Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Willson Hospice House.  Funeral services will be held Monday, July 24, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Robert Greene and Rev. Nancy Scarbrough will officiate. A private interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Born in Jacksonville, FL, Mrs. Stoudenmire had resided in Albany since 1951. Mrs. Stoudenmire retired from the United States Postal Service. She was a loving wife, mother, Nanee, and friend to many. Mrs. Stoudenmire enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She will leave a lasting legacy of love for those who knew her best.

She was a member of the United Methodist Women Circle Four and Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Finley Batton and Sophia Reynolds Batton, her husband, Walter Frank Stoudenmire, a brother, Sam Batton and a sister, Lucy Hodges.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Phillip Stoudenmire and Cary, and a daughter and her husband, Debbie Sledge and Ronnie, all of Albany, GA, four grandchildren, Krista Robitz (Jason), St. Simons Island, GA, Laura Griffin (Wesley), Albany, GA, Charlie Stoudenmire (Laura Leigh), Nashville, TN, Butler Stoudenmire, Charleston, SC, six great-grandchildren, Bo, Amelia, Grace, Reynolds, Lyla, Lucy, and a special friend, Dot Hall, Albany, GA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church.
