Eugene (Gene) Freeman, Jr., 55, of Leesburg, GA died Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Minister Sam Hartline and Rev. Landon Poulsen will officiate.

Born in Fitzgerald, GA, Mr. Freeman had resided in Leesburg, GA for the past fifteen years moving from Albany, GA. He was retired from Cooper Tire and was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Elizabeth Poulsen Freeman, Leesburg, GA, two sons, Jeffrey Freeman (Brittany Leggett), Cordele, GA, Eugene Jesse Freeman, Leesburg, GA, three daughters, Nicole Freeman Butler (David), Leesburg, GA, Ashley Freeman (Jeremy Senn), Leesburg, GA, Sara Elizabeth Freeman (Jake Luke), Albany, GA, two brothers, Sean Mann, Cedar Rapids, IA, David Harper (Janice), Atlanta, GA, two sisters, Naomi Hansche, Atlanta, GA, Chris Rosales, Buda, TX, five granddaughters, Anna Freeman and Emily Freeman daughters of Jeffrey Freeman and Regina Freeman, Hailey Benstine daughter of Ashley Freeman and Tommy Benstine, Samantha Butler and Blakely Butler, daughters of Nicole and David Butler.

The family will receive friends Thursday at Mathews Funeral Home one hour prior to the services.
