Eugene Frank Bruner

Eugene Franklin (Frank) Bruner, 88, of Albany, GA passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Dr. Michael Gravette will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Born in Calhoun County, GA, the eleventh of twelve children to Charles Anthony and Birdie Mae Monfort, Frank served in the US Army for ten months before his father passed away and he was needed at home by his mother and younger sister. He married the love his life, Laura Roney Bruner, on March 6, 1960. They moved to Albany, GA where he became an electrician by trade and started Bruner Electric Company in 1968 where he was joined by many special and faithful friends and family.

Frank served as a faithful and loving Deacon at Byne Memorial Baptist Church for over fifty years. He was instrumental in the Arise and Build Committee for the move to Ledo Road. He gradually retired and left his company to his two sons and purchased property from his older brother and wife in Leesburg, GA that is now referred to as Bruner Farms.

He loved living on the river and skiing, hunting, fishing, farming and most of all, he loved his whole family. There is nothing he would not do for them. He was loved and respected by so many of his nephews, nieces, etc. and the best daddy anyone could ask for.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Bruner, Leesburg, GA, Tony Bruner, Leesburg, GA, Lamar Bruner, Alma, GA, C.W. Bruner, South West, GA,  J. T. Bruner, Cuthbert, GA and sisters, Polly Tabb, Tallahassee, FL, Grace Mathis, Ft. Gaines, GA, Myrtle Covey, Oceanside, CA, Elizabeth Brooks, Ft. Gaines, GA and Agnes Adams, Dothan, AL and a son, Michael Eugene Bruner, Leesburg, GA.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Roney Bruner, Albany, GA, a son Scott Bruner (Debbie), a daughter, Frankie Lynn Bruner, Lee Co., GA, a sister, Charlene Bruner Smith (Larry), Buford, GA, grandchildren, Kaila Michelle Bruner, Lindsey Marie Bruner, Michael (Bo) Bruner, Anna Leigh Bruner, Jolie Jene Morgan, Kami Jae Morgan and great-grandchildren, Cecil Drift Carrington and Audrey Cape Carrington.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.at Mathews Funeral Home.
