Essie Lavern Willingham

Lavern Allegood Willingham, 69, of Albany, GA, died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Liberty Parkway Church of God. Rev. Ralph Horne, Sr. will officiate. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Funston Cemetery, Funston, GA.

A native of Bay, GA, Mrs. Willingham had resided in Albany since 1961 moving from Moultrie, GA. She was retired from Coats and Clark. She was a member of Liberty Parkway Church of God and taught the Adult Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband, Levon Willingham, Albany, GA, two daughters, Penny Willingham Neeld (Shane), Baconton, GA, Tracy Willingham Hefton Rowe (Mark), Coolidge, GA, two brothers, Ellique Allegood and Irvin Allegood both of Bay, GA, two sisters, Sadie Sellers and Geraldine Luff, both of Moultrie, GA, seven grandchildren, Jeremy Neeld, Tyler Neeld, Josh Hefton, Zach Hefton, Clay Neeld, Michael Hefton and Levi Hefton.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.

The grandchildren will serve as active pallbearers and Charlie Shoemaker, Ned Shoemaker and Perry Shoemaker will serve as honorary pallbearers.
