Ernest George Wentworth

Ernest George Wentworth, 74, of Sasser, GA died Saturday, December 17, 2016 at his residence. Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday, December 20. 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Mr. Melvin Thompson will officiate.

Born in Bridgton. Maine, Mr. Wentworth had resided in Sasser, GA since 1989 moving from Albany, GA. He was previously employed with the Federal State Inspection Service, retired from Proctor and Gamble and worked with the Terrell County Correctional Institute. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Wentworth, Sasser, GA, two sons, Willie Wentworth (Renee), Worth Co., GA, Everette Wentworth (Teresa), Bronwood, GA, a daughter, Michelle Purvis, Sasser, GA, five brothers, John Wentworth, Jasper, FL, David Wentworth, Mobile, AL, Andy Wentworth, New Port Richey, FL, George Wentworth, Zephyr Hills, FL, Tommy Wentworth, Live Oak, FL, four sisters, Sarah Lambrakos, Jasper, FL, Mary Reid, South Paris, MA, Rosie Moran, Crystal Springs, FL, Wanda Hillhouse, White Springs, FL, ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home.
