Ernest Linwood (Lin) Bell

Ernest Linwood (Lin) Bell, III, 71, of Leesburg, GA, died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Willson Hospice House. A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye and Keith Anthony will officiate. A private interment service will be held at Leesburg Cemetery with Rev. Calvin King officating.

Born in Americus, GA, Lin had resided in Leesburg, GA all of his life. He was a graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College and was a farmer all of his life.

He had received numerous awards, one for his dedicated service to the Lee County ASC Committee for over twenty five years of service, the Tom Bingham Fellowship Award from the Lions Club in recognition of his outstanding support. He served on the board of directors of the Lee Co. Farm Bureau Regional Development Center and the board of directors of the Farmers Home Administration.

He was a life member of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg. He loved his church, family, grandchildren, farming, fishing and flintknapping.

He was preceded in death by his father, former State Senator, Jack Bell, Sr., his mother, Amelia Jones Bell, two brothers, Jack Bell, Jr. and William (Bill) Bell,

Survivors include his wife, Kathie Bell, Leesburg, GA, a son, Jason Bell, Florida, two daughters, Jenifer Bell Fosshage (Erik), Albuquerque, NM, Jennifer Medlock Miller (Brandon), Montgomery, AL, three nephews, Jack Bell, II, Lee Bell and Cliff Bell, GA, a niece, Sheila Richter, two sister-in-laws, Denise Bell and Kay Bell all of Leesburg, GA, six grandchildren, Raines Miller, Lydia Miller, Dane Fosshage, Harper Fosshage, Jude Fosshage and Jacie Bell.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
