Elizabeth “Liz” Hall Bryan, 86, of Albany, GA, died peacefully September 26, 2024 at her home. A memorial service will be held Sunday October 6, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Brother Grady will officiate. A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
Liz was born in Luthersville, GA on June 1, 1938 to Isaac and Oretha Brown. She grew up in Grantville, GA and graduated from Grantville High School in 1954. She lived in North Carolina and then in Newnan, GA and moved to Albany, GA in 1972.
Liz was employed with Lloyd’s Restaurant from 1977-1984 and was the dining room manager at Merry Acres Restaurant. Her lifelong career in the service industry included opening Aunt Fannie’s with her husband Hugh, and the Mayberry Diner Restaurant with her daughter, Connie until 2012. She loved nothing more than serving everyone a great meal or baking them one her famous pound cakes.
Liz loved and enjoyed her Church family and was a longtime member of Westview Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Wallis, her parents, and her siblings, Helen Attaway, Kathryn Barber, Ed Brown, and Roy Brown.
Survivors include her children, Judy Attaway of Albany, GA, Allen (Sandi) Payton of Oakwood, GA, Melinda Grandits of Foley, AL, Rita (John) Pate of Lebanon, OH and Bonnie (Steve) Welch of Moultrie, GA, her grandchildren, Stepanie Mock of Albany, GA, Macie Pate of Maineville, OH, Amanda (Giev) Fowler of Liberty Township, OH, Abby Pate (Billy) of Robertsdale, AL, Parker (Sara) Grandits of Swanee, GA, Olivia (Corey) Pope of Newnan, GA, Gabby Payton of Oakwood, GA, Austin (Kaitlin) Stone of Warner Robins, GA and Brittany Welch (Dustin) of Moultrie, GA and eleven great-grandchildren.
