Elizabeth Edwards Lane

Elizabeth Edwards Lane, 73, of Albany, GA, died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church At The Groves. Rev. Ben Steffens, Pastor Liz Adams and Rev. Charlie Rouse will officiate. We deeply regret the passing of Alice Elizabeth Lane, born in 1944 in Coleman, GA. Elizabeth always felt her greatest accomplishments were being a wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking for her family and sharing recipes with family and friends. She enjoyed bird watching and growing pretty flowers.

In 1975, Elizabeth became a member of the Assembly of God Church in Albany GA, which is now the Church at the Groves. She attended church as long as she was able because she loved her church family. For many years, she volunteered on the prayer chain and food ministry, helping others in their time of need.

After having brain surgery, Elizabeth volunteered at Palmyra Park Hospital as a Pink Lady. She also worked for Dr. Cooper for several years.

For someone who struggled daily with tremendous pain, she had a full life. She was loved and will be missed by many.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, John H. Edwards and Linnie Hodges Edwards, a daughter, Sandra Grace Lane, a brother, Bud Edwards and sisters, Anna Lee Mainor, Mary Addison, Icyvene Addison and Millie Ammons.

Survivors include her husband, Malcolm C. Lane, Albany, GA, a son, Jeff Lane (Lisa), Acworth, GA, two daughters, Sue Lane Garner (Jerry), Pearl River, LA, Doris Lane Kelley (Shannon (Shane)), Montgomery, AL, a brother, David Edwards (Faith), Albany, GA, two sisters, Amelia Sanders, Monteene Jones (Clarence), all of Cuthbert, GA and honorary grandchild, Dawn Elizabeth Stricklin.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at The Church At The Groves.
