Elaine Laverta Hodges

Elaine Laverta Hodges of Leesburg, GA, died Monday, December 16, 2024 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Johnny Rogers and Mr. Scott Price will officiate. Interment will follow at Thundering Springs Cemetery. 

Mrs. Hodges was born in Albany, GA., to the late James and Pauline Trotman. She married the love of her life at the age of fifteen. Mrs. Hodges then went on to school for bookkeeping and managed the books for their company Bennett Supply Company. After working there for many years, she left the workforce and became a true homemaker. She was a genuine Southern Belle and loved to cook. Mrs. Hodges was like a mother and grandmother to countless kids in the community. If you came to her house, she made sure you left with a full stomach. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherrie Hodges Wiggins, three brothers and one sister. 

Survivors include her husband of sixty-two years, B.F. Hodges, a son, Billy Hodges (Joel White), a son in law, John Eubanks, three grandchildren, Colby Eubanks, Landon Wiggins (Trista) and Payton Eubanks, four great grandchildren, Emmet, Bella, Ethan and Edge and two sisters, Cathy Ritter (Ronnie) and Barbara Jean Vines (Steve). 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
