Edna Kenney Peterson

Edna Kenney Peterson, 79, of Albany, GA, died Friday, July 3, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Sterling Jones will officiate. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Milford Baptist Church Cemetery, Baker Co., GA.

A native of Blakely, GA, Mrs. Peterson helped her husband build a successful family-run company then left the company to provide childcare for her grandson, Eric. She loved her family, loved to fish, loved God and loved to help others. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard Kenney and Nancy Jenkins Kenney and her husband David I. Peterson.

Survivors include, two daughters, Peggy Tierney and her husband Jim, Lee Co., GA and Debbie Logan and her husband Reid of Albany, GA, four sisters, Alice Smith, Lucille, GA, Ann Bremer, St. Louis, MO, Faye Bush, Colquitt, GA, Barbara Milliner, Damascus, GA, three grandchildren, Eric Peterson Logan, Michael Tierney, Karen Tierney and three great-grandchildren, David Nathaniel Logan, Josh Tierney and Victoria Tierney along with three nephews and six nieces.

The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
