Edna McClendon Clark, 78, a long-time resident of the Albany, GA area went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus, GA. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Sherwood Baptist Church Chapel. Dr. Michael Catt and Rev. John Spencer will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Born in Shreveport, LA, Edna received a BA in Education from the University of Arkansas, where she met her husband, Jim Clark. She taught elementary school before becoming a full-time homemaker. She continued to substitute teach in subsequent years after her children began school.

Mrs. Clark leaves a lasting legacy at Sherwood Baptist Church, where she taught young adult Sunday school alongside her husband for over thirty years. When she wasn't studying or teaching a lesson, Edna loved spending time with friends, family and especially her nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vascoe Houston McClendon and Lucille Bennett McClendon and a son, James E. Clark, III.

Survivors include her husband Jim E. Clark, Jr., Albany, GA, two sons, Houston Clark and his wife Sherry, Dallas, TX, George Clark and his wife Paula, Dawsonville, GA, a daughter, Dell Kaldor and her husband Erik, Jacksonville, FL and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the atrium of Sherwood Baptist Church.
