E.C. Cleve Cleveland

E C "Cleve" Cleveland, 88, of Albany, GA, died Saturday May 4 2013 at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, FL, after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 7, 2013 at 2:00 at PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Dr. Don Adams will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Cleveland had been a resident of Albany for 64 years and worked in sales for over 40 years before retiring from Lykes Bros. in 1987. He was a former member of Palmyra Road United Methodist Church and was a current member of First Methodist Church in Albany. Mr. Cleveland was a regular at the local ballparks and was a lifelong baseball fan. After retirement, he loved visiting the mountains of Hiawassee, Georgia and taking his daily walks, usually two miles in under twenty minutes.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Hazel Williams Cleveland, his sons, Al (Lou) and James (Donna)and his daughter Teresa Paliwoda (Chuck), his grandchildren, Melanie Cleveland, Colby Cleveland, Josh Cleveland (Ashton) and Emily Phillips (Ryan), a great-grandson, Maddox Cleveland and a brother, Richard Cleveland. He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Nina Cleveland, his sisters, Mavis Morris, Jimmie Farmer and Hilda Houston, his brother J. C. Cleveland and a son- in- law, Steve Seymoe.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
