Earl Lee McGie, Sr. died at his residence in Leesburg, GA, on Thursday, April 17. He was born on March 1, 1952, in Manassas, VA to Earl and Carrie McGie. Earl served in the United States Marine Corps for 16 years and was a disabled veteran. He also worked at the MCLB in Albany, GA for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Earl Lee McGie, Jr., his parents, and his sister Pearl.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Hodges McGie and two sons, Earl L. McGie II (Kim) and Clay Dale (Robin). He is also survived by four grandchildren, Brooks McGie, Daniel Walters, Alexandra Dale, and Gavin Earl Dale, and four sisters, Ada Kohn, Mary (Marion) Hall, Pattie(Elwood) Jones, and Frances(Don) Mattson, and countless friends and relatives. Additional family members are his beloved Bo, Rocky, Jada, and Lilly. Earl was known for his great sense of humor, his candor, and his unique way with words.
Private memorial services will be held in Albany, GA and Manassas, VA at a later date.
