Drennen “Deke” Blocker, 64, of Baconton, GA., died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
A native of North Augusta, SC., Danny was a handy man and had many different occupations over his life. Mr. Blocker earned his GED diploma and went on to earn his Associates degree in computer technologies and ordained minister with The Sure Foundation Fellowship. Deke was a member of Lighthouse Ministries, were he taught classes and worked with young boys in the Royal Rangers before his health declined. He was preceded in death by his father Elonzo Willis Blocker, his wife Wanda Hutton Blocker, and his grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Wade F. Dyches.
Survivors include his loving mother, Margaret Blocker, his siblings, Dr. David Lovett (Ann) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Gloria Marie Larkin, Cheryl Cross, Tricia Stewart and Janice Hall (David) all of Baconton, GA., and a brother Darren Blocker (Trish) of Stedman, NC., Danny is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
