Dorothy S Tresslar

Dorothy (Dot) Nell Tresslar, 81, of Albany, GA died Friday, August 18, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate. Interment will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

Dorothy was born in Ben Hill County, Georgia on October 21, 1935 to the late Marcus Luke Smith and Mae Grantham Smith.  She graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1954. She attended business school in Macon, then started her civil service career, retiring at MCLB Albany, GA in 1990.

Dorothy was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and a former member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was of the Baptist faith.  She loved gardening and her grand and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her three brothers, Walter Smith, Milton Smith, and Charles Smith.

Survivors include her husband Jack Tresslar, daughters, Gloria Martin, Katrina Moore (Bill), son Gene Martin (Maria), all of Albany, GA, sisters Jessie Terzino, Orange Park, FL, Charlene Foster (Steve), Fitzgerald, GA, brothers, Hershell Smith (Margaret), Pearson, GA, Virgil Smith (Elizabeth), Hubert Smith (Janice), all of Fitzgerald, GA, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
