Dorothy Jean Farr

Dorothy Jean Farr, 80, of Albany, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Grady Morey will officiate.

Born and raised in Atlanta, Mrs. Farr graduated from Sylvan Hills High School. She and her late husband, Mr. Carl Howard Farr, moved to Albany in 1968. She was a founding member of Albany Christian Church and currently attended Amazing Grace Baptist Church. Mrs. Farr ran a daycare business out of her home for many years. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, shopping, and southern gospel music.

Survivors include her three children Ronnie (Debbie) Farr of Leesburg, GA, Johnny E. (Sallie) Farr of Albany, GA, Mary (Curtis) Bickerstaff of Leesburg, GA, five grandchildren Chris (Kim) Farr of Leesburg, GA, David Farr of Moultrie, GA, Anna (Chris) Bashline of Camilla, GA, Christen Bickerstaff of Leesburg, GA, and Garrett J. Bickerstaff of Leesburg, GA, a sister Frances Loreane Hall of Stockbridge, GA, seven great-grandchildren, and her loyal and loving companion Little-Bit.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
