Dorothy Jane Edwards

Dorothy Jane Edwards, 78, of Leesburg, GA passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Lee County Health and Rehabilitation. 

Born September 29, 1943, in Worth County, GA,. to the late Dot and Jimmy Rycroft. Jane worked for the board of education in Dougherty County and retired after 36 years from Westover High School. After retirement she enjoyed working part time at the YMCA in Leesburg, GA and being a member of the Red Hat Ladies.

She loved her children and family more than anything in the world, family was very important and dear to her heart and was what she stood for most. She most enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters and two great grandsons, and the company of her favorite little chihuahua, Bruiser. She always loved traveling to Warm Springs, GA especially at Christmas where she loved to see the Fantasy and Lights show at Callaway Gardens. 

Jane was proceeded in death by her parents, Dot and Jimmy Rycroft, and her sister, Kay Rycroft Akridge.

Survivors include, a son, Brett Wilson of Albany, GA. Daughter, Buffy Salter and husband Tracy of Port St Joe FL, two granddaughters, Megan McLemore and husband Chris of Mexico Beach, FL,  Katie Salter and fiancé Dylan Ware of Noble, OK, two great grandsons, Jacob and Henry McLemore of Mexico Beach, FL.
