Doris Russell

Doris Russell, 85, of Albany, GA died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Phoenix Assisted Living. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Deans, Rev. Damon Fountain and Rev. Paul Wilkes will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Crisp Co., GA, Mrs. Russell had resided in Albany, GA all of her adult life. She was retired from J.L. Malone and Associates and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Drayton Sanders and Lizzie Floyd Davis Sanders, her husbands, James Elwood Russell and Phil Saunders, a brother, William Alvin “Unk” Sanders, a sister, Nell Smith, a son-in-law, Randy Wood and a granddaughter, Jennifer Wood Creamer.

Survivors include a son, E. Berry Jackson (Lynn), Attapulgus, GA, two daughters, Donna Wood, Crawfordville, FL, Lisa Simpson (Randy), Albany, GA, six grandchildren, Andy Wood (Estee), Leesburg, GA, Amanda Sundin (Jon), Tallahassee, FL, Joshua Jackson (Sarah), Tallahassee, FL, Heather Taliaferro (Gregg), Savannah, GA, Anna Simpson, Albany, GA, four great-grandchildren, Chad Creech, Leesburg, GA, Ed Ross Creamer, IV, Leesburg, GA, Makaily Sundin and Elli Sundin, Tallahassee, FL.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
