Doris F. Parker

Doris F. Parker of Cordele, GA passed away peacefully at her residence.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Fred McCoy will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. 

Mrs. Parker was born in Sylvester, GA to James and Nocia Fowler. She grew up in Worth County and graduated from Warwick High School in 1945. After High School, she moved to Albany, GA and attended Freeman’s Business School. She was employed with Hysler Fork Lift and was employed with Aldridge Construction Company as their Office Manager for many years before her retirement. Mrs. Parker moved to Cordele, GA in 2018 and was a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and reading. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Parker, three sons, Lennis Etheridge, Rundy Etheridge and Stevie Etheridge and a grandson, Stevie Etheridge.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Jan (Steve) Bridges of Cordele, GA, four grandsons, Curt (Kelly) Etheridge of Lee County, GA, Chris (Amber) Etheridge of Panama City Beach, FL, Gene (Tammy) Etheridge of Albany, GA, Erick Etheridge of Valdosta, GA and Ivey (Bubba) Williams of Cordele, GA and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm Thursday before the service at Mathews.
