Doris "Diddy" Hill

Doris "Diddy" Hill, 69, of Sallisaw, OK, formerly of Albany, GA, passed away November 29, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, AR. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Albany, GA. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. A daughter of a distinguished military officer, Diddy was born in Osaka, Japan and traveled far and wide in her youth until she settled in Albany, GA to raise her eight children. She earned her nursing certification through Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta, GA and continued her education throughout the years, finishing with a masters received in Psychiatric Nursing. She was greatly respected in her field of medicine as she served the Albany area for many years. She finished her career working for the VA Hospital in Little Rock, AR as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatry. Diddy was an avid crafter, crocheting items for her friends and family. She especially loved to make things for her grandchildren. She is survived by her children Michael Harvey, Stephanie Chastain, Jennifer Jeppson, Cynthia Mann, Timothy Harvey, Kimberly Clark, and Christopher Harvey. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren and one great-grandson. She is predeceased by her daughter, Michelle Harvey. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
