Dorinda Hardwick, 68, of Albany, GA, died January 4, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Ross Powell will officiate. A private interment will follow Monday at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.
A native of Edison, GA born to the late Jessie and Marynelle Lightfoot, Mrs. Hardwick was raised in Albany, GA and attended Albany High School. She was in the Food Industry all of her adult life and was a longtime employee with Blackbeardâs Restaurant, Carrâs Steakhouse and the Palmyra Supper Club. Mrs. Hardwick was a Baptist and loved flowers and gardening in her yard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan E. âCurleyâ Hardwick, Jr.
Survivors include two children, Katrina Wooten and her husband, Robert of Largo, FL and Eugene Allen Barfield of Albany, GA, a sister, Vivian Royals and her husband, Robert of Douglas, GA, a brother and his wife, Murray E. and Carol Lightfoot of Tallahassee, FL, five grandchildren, Miranda Dupuis of North Port, FL, Haley Deen of Albany, GA, Katie Wooten of Douglas, GA, Bobbie Wooten of North Port, FL and Codey Barfield of Albany, GA, a special aunt, Trudy Lightfoot of Sylvester, GA, a great-granddaughter, Sabias Hallisey, a niece, Brandie Payton and a nephew, Brandon Royals both of Douglas, GA.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
