Donna McLendon Rosier

Donna McLendon Rosier, 69, of Albany, GA died Friday, May 24, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Billy D. Hanna will officiate. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Corey Thomas will officiate.

Donna graduated from Miller County High School in Colquitt, Ga and attended Albany Technical College, where she was one of the first graduates trained in computers. She was employed and then retired from M&M Mars after 35 years of service.

Past President of Albany Elks Lodge # 713 Auxiliary, Donna continued to be an active member and volunteer for the lodge, her community, and was an avid supporter of the Elks Aidmore Children's Home.

Lee County Health and Rehabilitation became a special project and she could be counted on to bring needed monetary donations, supplies, gifts, clothing and special treats to the residents. There was always a special table for her at the Christmas parties while Santa gave out the presents. Veteran's Day was always marked with a visit to the Center to thank those who served. When leaving the facility, she would always say, "These little ladies need to know that they are loved, beautiful and have not been forgotten." Facility staff maintain that she was an inspiration for them all.

Donna also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, puzzles, adult coloring books, spending time with her grandchildren and plenty of lap time with her and Dean's dog, Axel, with an additional arms-length relationship with their cat, aptly named Stripe the Kitty Cat. Her sense of humor and kind heart were enormous.

She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Chason McLendon.

Survivors include her husband, Dean Rosier, Albany, GA, a son, Robert Blevins, Pisgah, AL, a step-daughter, Wendy Rosier Matthews, Albany, GA, a step-son, Erik Rosier (Meredith),Newcastle NWS, Australia, her mother, Dorothy McLendon and a brother, Gary McLendon both of Colquitt, GA, two sisters, Vonda McLendon Coleman (Don), Shellman, GA, and Rita McLendon McVey, Colquitt, GA, grandchildren are, Robert’s children, Miranda Blevins, Madeline Blevins, Wendy’s children, Jacob Rhinebolt, Elise Rhinebolt, Tyler Burke and Kara Burke and Erik’s children, Jonathan Rosier and Daniel Rosier, two nephews David McVey and Bryan Coleman, four nieces Celena McVey Anderson (Micah), Marcie McVey Boswell (Joshua), Ashlie McLendon, and Halie McLendon, and two great nieces and two great nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
