Donna Marlene (Marlee) King

Donna Marlene (Marlee) King, 40, of Albany, GA, died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at her residence, a private memorial service will be held.

Marlee was born October 13, 1971 in Tifton, GA, the home of her parents and grandparents and ancestors who were original pioneer settlers in Irwin and Tift County. She resided from 1971 until 1973 in Sylvester, GA with her parents where her father was employed with the Georgia Cooperative Extension Service as an assistant county agricultural agent.

In 1973 they moved to Morgan, GA in Calhoun Co. where he became the head county extension agent. In 1985 the family moved to Albany, GA, where she attended Westover High School. After graduation she attended and graduated from Valdosta State College with honors. She then moved to Gainesville, GA where she taught school. She later returned to Albany, GA.

Survivors include her son, Austin Michael McConnell, Albany, GA, her father and step-mother, James Waldo King, Jr. and Melody Anne King, Albany, GA, her mother and step-father, Donna Tyson Clements and L. A. Clements, Lakemont, GA, two sisters, Michelle Mitchell, Atlanta, GA, and Freya Meyers, Lawrenceville, GA, maternal grandmother, Dorothy Tyson, Tifton, GA, three half-brothers, Cody Winslow King, Dempsey Taylor King and James Waldo King, III all of Albany, GA, and a half-sister, Holly Kristine King, Albany, GA.
