Donald L McCorkle

Mr. Donald L. McCorkle, 96, of Albany, GA, died May 31, 2022 at the Willson Hospice House.  Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11:00 am at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Rev. Jim Eubanks and Rev. Ron Stinson will officiate.

Mr. McCorkle was born in Edison, GA on September 15, 1925 to Sydney and Bonnie McCorkle.  He graduated from Edison High School and moved to Albany, GA.  He married Margaret Kaupp in 1949 and they had five children.

Mr. McCorkle was a member of Beacon Baptist Church for twenty-five years.  He was a salesman all his adult life and retired from Albany Beverage Company.  Mr. McCorkle LOVED to fish and enjoy the outdoors.  He was preceded in death by his sisters, Hilda Vann, Doris Cuthbert, Beatrice Moree and a granddaughter, Laura Scott.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Margaret Kaupp McCorkle of Albany, GA, his children, Donna Bass of Lee County, GA, Mark (Kathy) McCorkle of Albany, GA, Steven McCorkle of Lee County, GA and Valerie Blaylock of Albany, GA and Margaret (Rick) Mushkat of Lee County, GA, and a sister, Barbara Ferguson, Cuthbert, GA, six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will visit with friends following the service at Floral Memory Gardens.
