Don R. Williams

Don R. Williams, 79, of Worth County, GA, died October 7, 2022 at Willson Hospice House.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Melvin Slappey will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Leesburg City Cemetery.

Don was born at home on the family farm in Miller County, GA on March 17, 1943 to Harry and Sara Williams.  He graduated from Miller County High School in 1961 and South Georgia Technical College in Americus in 1963.

Don moved to Albany, GA and owned and operated Don Williams Transmission for over forty years.  He attended Kinchafoonee Baptist Church and was very active with the grounds and maintenance committee and he loved antique cars. Don loved to fish, plant his vegetable garden, loved music and playing his guitar.

Survivors include his wife, Faye Williams of Worth County, GA, his children, Donna (Darrell) Sambor of Millbrook, AL, Alan (Amy) Williams of Worth County, GA and Joey (Ramsey) Williams of Walpole, NH, two brothers, David (Ann) Williams of Fort Valley, GA and Duren (Sherry) Williams of Miller County, GA, three grandchildren, Cohl Williams, Chase Williams and Adam Sambor, two step-children, Gloria (Roger) Sullivan and Peggy Parks both of Lee County, GA, seven step-grandchildren, Scott (Jessica) Milam, Jr of Chattanooga, TN, Nathan (Stephanie) Milam of Senoia, GA, Joshua (Jordan) Milam of Tampa, FL, Brandon White of Lee County, GA, Tiffany (JD) Pollock of Columbus, GA, Anna Parks and Ansley Parks both of Lee County, GA.

Preceded in death by his parents Harry and Sara Williams and a Step-Daughter Pam Miller Milam.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
