Don Wallace Underwood

Don Wallace Underwood, (MSgt. USMC Ret.), 68, of Leesburg, GA, died Monday, November 25, 2013 at Willson Hospice House. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, December 2, 2013 at 12:00 P.M. at Andersonville National Cemetery with Military Honors. Rev. Ernie Elmore will officate.

A native of Payson, Utah, Mr. Underwood retired from the Marine Corps after 25 years where he served in Viet Nam and received the Purple Heart. After his retirement from the Marine Corps, Mr. Underwood left Albany, GA and resided in Lady Lakes, FL where he was employed by Bell Helicopter before returning two years ago.

Survivors include his wife, Deloris K. (Dee) Underwood, a son, Sean Underwood both of Leesburg, GA, a daughter, Shannon Daniels and her husband, Bill of Worth County, GA, four step children, Paul Golden, Jr., Cody Kalawaia, Kristy Heard and her husband, Jeremy all of Leesburg, GA, Scott Golden and his wife, Heather of Ft. Sill, OK, two sisters, Hannah Nelson and Mary Kohler and her husband, Ed of Michigan, and thirteen grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday at Mathews Funeral Home.
