Diamond Jack S. Smith, 72, of Albany, GA, died September 11, 2015 at Emory University Hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church in Doerun, GA. Pastor Dana Swain and Pastor Ray Jenkins will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
A native of Sigsbee, GA, Mr. Smith graduated from Doerun, High School and lived in Colquitt County, GA until moving to Albany, GA in 1976. He was a member of Liberty Parkway Church of God. He was the CEO and founder of Alithicon Lubricants Company in 1995 but had been in the Industry for over forty years. Mr. Smith was a former member of the Loyal and Benevolent Protective Order of The Elks and The Loyal Order of the Moose.
Survivors include his children, Jack (Rhonda) Smith, Jr. of Leesburg, GA, Jill (Billy) Bass, Jody Smith and John Smith and the mother of his children, Sue Gunn Smith all of Albany, GA, his sisters, Jeanette Veasey of Savannah, GA and June Harrison of Atlanta, GA and his grandchildren, Dylan Elliott, Dustin Elliott, Dalton Elliott and Daniel Elliott all of Albany, GA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Mathews Funeral Home.
The family will be at the residence of Jill and Billy Bass.
