Dennis Savage Mayer

Dennis Savage Mayer, 82, of Leesburg, GA passed away to be with our Lord, March 1, 2025.

There was a memorial service held Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garcia, 105 Cobblefield Dr., Albany, GA, 31701. Friends and family are welcome.

Dennis was born in Chicago, Illinois to Howard Gerson Mayer and Ella Mae Hollenback which preceded him in death. He married Christa Price Mayer and was blessed with one son, Micah Mayer.

Dennis served in the US Army for three years in Germany as a combat MP. After the time in service he became a chef and moved to the south for the pecan wood, because to him it was the best to use for smoked ribs. He loved to cook and became a chef in 1988. Dennis had two companies: "Once upon a Grill" and Concierge Catering", which he worked until he retired. He also judged many competitions over the years.

Survivors include a son, Micah Mayer (Amanda), St. Petersburg, FL and grandchildren, Erin Mayer, Steven Mayer and Fiona Mayer.
