Dennis Edward Lillis, Sr

Dennis E. Lillis, Sr., 78, of Albany, GA, died January 7, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Billy Lillis will officiate. The Albany Fire Department will provide honors.

A native of Winchester, VA, Mr. Lillis served in the United States Air Force and moved to Albany, GA in 1964. He retired as a Captain from Albany Fire Department after twenty years. Mr. Lillis also owned and operated Carpet World of Albany for thirty years. He was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge #713. He was preceded by a son, Dennis E. Lillis, Jr, two brothers, Mike and John Lillis and four sisters, Ellen, Evelyn, Barbara and Pasty.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine Lillis, and a son, Billy Lillis his wife, Karen all of Albany, GA, three daughters, Cathy Lillis, of Leesburg, GA, Cindy Collins and her husband, Chris of Albany, GA, and Angel Wilbanks and her husband, Mike of Leesburg, GA two sisters, Pauline Rowe of Charlestown, WV and Joan Hepner of Albany, GA, twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
